Their Memory Survives
By John Dixon

The brothers and sisters who were there,
Show the pain and bear the scars,
Who saw their friends die,
Under those South East Asian stars,
They fought
bravely and boldly,
As the enemy came near,
And though they felt it deep inside,
They never showed their fear,
As the enemy
approached,
They readied themselves,
For the fight that they knew,
Would put them through hell,
But the one’s
still there,
Be it buried or alive,
Have seen the true horror,
and their memory survives,
The dead’s war
is over,
their bodies for now remain,
In the place where they fought,
Or as prisoners were slain,
Our thoughts
are for the one’s,
That are alive in that land,
Still going through hell,
As a POW under communist hand,
So keep them
in your hearts,
‘cause their memory we will save,
And bring them back on the land,
Of the Home of the Brave.
Dedicated to the great men and women of Rolling Thunder NC-5 for their hard work and willingness to keep the POW/MIA issue alive!
